Independence Day Kite festival organized by the Midwest Winds Kite Fliers. July 1st, LaVista, Nebraska
The Midwest Winds Kite Fliers held the Red, White and Blue event to commemorate Independence Day, 2006.
The winds were intermittent all day. A lot of great kites spent most of the day on the ground.
Don Murphy, president of the group, is working to get this large kite aloft.
This should give you an idea of the size. Many of the kites are very large.
This is one of my favorites from the day.
There were several other wind activated itmes on display.
All the kites weren't Red, White and Blue.
